SEO and AEO
Run audits, fix SEO gaps, and make your content answerable to AI assistants.
Running an Audit
Scans every page on your site and generates an SEO and AEO report.
You cannot fix what you cannot see. The audit gives you a complete picture of where your site is strong and where it has gaps.
- Go to the Audit section in your dashboard.
- Click Run Audit.
- Wait for the scan to complete. The time varies depending on how many pages your site has.
- When the scan finishes, your report is ready.
Running the audit and not acting on it wastes the effort. Start with errors and work down.
Reading Audit Results
How to interpret your report and decide what to fix first.
An audit report can feel overwhelming if you try to address everything at once. Understanding how the three result levels work helps you prioritise correctly.
- Open the audit report after running a scan.
- Start with Errors. These are problems that will actively reduce your site's visibility. Fix all errors before moving on.
- Move to Warnings. These are gaps that may reduce your reach. Focus on warnings that appear on your most important pages first.
- Review Info items last. These are optional improvements. Address them when errors and warnings are clear.
- After fixing issues, run the audit again to confirm they are resolved.
Do not start with Info items because they look easier. Errors and warnings on high-traffic pages are always higher priority.
Editing SEO Content
Updates the title and description that search engines use to rank your pages.
Every page on your site needs a clear title and description. These are what appear in search results.
- Identify the page flagged by the audit, or choose a page you want to optimise.
- In Edit Mode, find the corresponding content item.
- Click the title text directly on the page to update it inline.
- To update the tagline, which serves as the page description, click it directly on the page and edit it inline.
- Click Save.
A tagline like 'Our services' tells a search engine very little. Write a specific sentence that describes what the page contains and who it is for.
Editing AEO Content
Makes your content directly answerable to AI assistants and answer engines.
Search is changing. AI assistants do not show a list of links. They read your content and write an answer directly. AEO is about making your content answerable.
- Open your audit report and find any AEO gaps flagged.
- Each gap is linked to one of six questions: Who, What, Why, When, Where, or How.
- Go to the content item the audit flagged.
- Open the content manager for that item.
- Expand the body content to address the relevant question directly and explicitly.
- Click Save.
- Run the audit again to confirm the gap is resolved.
Write content that talks directly to the question rather than around it. If the question is How, describe your process step by step. Be direct.
